Blood and bone

Collaged and resined domino pendant.

An example of a serendipitous accident (of which I am an expert!).

I was busy with two other projects (Lady Macbeth [link] and Ophelia [link]) and had scraps and reject stuff lying all over my table. And so I just bunged them all together.

The background is a leftover scrap of the snakeskin texture by echo [link] that I had used for Lady Macbeth.

She was a reject for the role of Ophelia because the transfer was too dark to work on that pendant. The face transfer then got accidentally stuck to a piece of vintage Portuguese text transfer (packing tape is soo irritating!), and so I just glued the whole lot on top of the snakeskin.

The cogwheel was an afterthought. Also lying around from a previous project.

The pendant ended up being really intense and Goth-y, so I photographed it against a vertebra bone (kudu, I think - found on a game walk in the bush), and dying late-season iceberg roses from my garden.
