To make up for lost time

Shadow box assemblage in a 9 x 9" frame.

Vintage photograph, various vintage letters and ephemera, vintage glass bottles (the one on the right has Essence of Life embossed on it), dried rosebud, tiny vintage lead swan (chipped paint and missing one foot), rusted old doorplate, acetate transparency.
Frame is old book pages, distressing inks, beeswax and oilpaint.

The back of the photo has the following inscription: "Clifford and Dorothy Perkin. Aged 2 and 4."
The title comes from the handwritten note (behind the rose) which reads - "To make up for lost time. Yrs Very Sincerely. 2 - 8 - 14". I found it tucked into an old book.
