Spread 2 of the alternative re-telling of the Bluebeard fairytale. (Spread 1 is here [link] )
She receives flowers from her suitors. Swooning with anticipation, she opens the envelope. Seductive invitations and options flutter onto the floor. Which invitation is most enticing? How can she possibly choose? She has to, just has to, keep exploring. She is so curious to see what happens next. So am I!
Collage: acrylic glazes; patterned tissue paper; packing tape transfers; Leyendecker 1920s Saturday Evening Post illustrations; vintage brass keyhole / escutcheon; ribbons. The little delivery boy is mounted on board, lifted above the page with foam sticky squares. The manila envelope slides behind him, and can be removed. Tucked inside the envelope are billets doux (of a kind) from the four suitors. The four different coloured ribbons are attached to (1) a platinum credit card (2) a burnt piece of parchment with a poetry scrap on it (3) a map of a golf course (4) a key (aha, aha!)
EDIT: Each billet doux directs you to a future page in the story. If you choose the Sugar Daddy's platinum credit card, you have to go to page 4 [link] If you choose the poetry, you have to go to page 5 [link] If you choose the map from the accountant, you have to go to page 6 [link] If you choose the key, you go straight to the end of the story [link]

Beautiful, love the colors and layers. I enjoyed reading your description of your work as well. I am working on some altered books and this inspires me.
