balanced on the biggest wave...
racing towards an ending strange
chosen by those  whose deeds maintain
that nothing remains unchanged by actions
past...as ripples move and find their way
to those who walk on beaches yet formed
and wash away what never was

Excellent. The background grid gives me the sense of her attempting to balance.

Perhaps love is waiting if she does a backwards somersault off that plank - perhaps it's waiting if she keeps her balance and comes in. Very effective.

I love your interpretation!
In my head - because the collage was made for my eighteen year old who has just left the nest to go to university - it was saying perhaps my love can keep her safe as she takes the perilous journey into her own life, perhaps it can't. The vulnerable feeling of a parent who for so long has had the illusion that she can protect her children from everything, and now has to let go.

I hear you, what a feeling that is... I think there is security for our children in our love for them even when there is not all the protection we would wish.

I love your use of grids lately, adds such order plus texture. As for your inspiration, this is a scary time of life, my two eldest are going off to college next year, and talk about nothing else. I think I’m the one that’s more scared the blitheness of youth is remarkable!

I have yet to do this, I wonder where I’ll start? An image comes to mind … one of Bouguereau’s girls, or not?

They have to walk the plank on their own, I guess. At leat that's what I keep telling myself. It's a roller coaster over here. Oh, those last-daughters!
