Collage on museum stretch canvas 8 x 8"

Paper, marker pens, acetate transparency of an eye chart, washi tape.

The central illustration is from a Home Arts magazine cover dated 1937.
She's supposedly at a Beauty Salon, but I have no clue what procedure is being executed.
Maybe it's a perm, but it could be a brain transplant, for all I know.

I love this...wow the old school perm machine...i am in cosmetology now... and we just saw this machine..it looks like a giant squid. But yes this the way they permed hair in the early 1910s to mid 1940's...crazy to think of this on your head..and it weighs alot as well, it actually if kept on to long melted the hair.
I love this piece...makes me smile and hits home for me!!!

Clearly it's some sort of hydro-therapy, given the fishies in the background!
