Full of Growing by hogret Full of Growing by hogret
Collage: Paper, acrylic glazes, ink, acetate transparency, packing tape transfers, Japanese masking tape, gold foiling pen, eyelets, rub-on letters.

Altered book, work in progress. A copy of Benjamin Franklin's Autobiography which has been assertively altered - each spread has been cut down to a different architectural shape, and each spread thus has views behind and beyond to other spreads. The theme is the layered world of childhood, using illustrations from early 20th C illustrators as focal points. The little girl in this spread is by Marguerite Davis.

Great work on this book. I love the sinuous plant forms on this piece. And, yes the faucet is perfect.

The little faucet was hanging around right until the end ... I couldn't find a place for it initially, but I knew I just had to use it!

I love it! Collage is one of the best ways I can express myself. I didn't think anyone would want to see it but you have inspire me - maybe I should shown mine off a little. Thank you :-)
I love the girl in this collage.

She's from a Marguerite Davis illustration - late 1920s. I love her drawings - they all have a wistful innocence about them.
