Altered Book page

I was bored and running out of inspiration, so I have set myself the challenge of doing an entire altered book using only William Adolphe Bouguereau's 1875 painting After the Bath ~ see original at [link]

Me and others most notably Jifri Kolar [link] have done similar things – but with out the weaving technique. Check out Kolar – I think you will enjoy his works,

and I like it too!

Amazing. I'm enjoying the transformation of the image. I wouldn't have thought that the painting would be that malleable to your input. My first reaction, in fact, was that the bent knee was going to be a huge challenge directionally! Because it seems to point. But you are up to the task, no doubt about it. And if you're bored, why didn't you ask me? We could make a book together! Or a journal! We can exorcise our pasts with paper and glue! Geesh, hogret, c'mon!

Well, it was a totally arbitrary choice - I happened to have 4 copies of the picture (in different sizes) in my file of collage stuff! But let's make a book together ... (now that sounds like a song title?)
